A tensor power centralizer algebra (tantalizer) is the algebra of commuting operators for a Lie group or quantum group action on tensor space. The favourite examples are the group algebra of the symmetric group and the Brauer algebra. This talk will survey some recent work on tantalizers: giving definitions and recent results for affine and graded BMW algebras and some two boundary tantalizers.
