Some mathematical foundations for multiscale models coupling atomistic and continuum descriptions of matter
Abstract:
We will review recent works on the passage from discrete (atomistic) description of matter to continuum descriptions, which provide a rigorous ground for some hybrid multiscale models. This is joint work with Xavier Blanc (University Paris 6), and Pierre-Louis Lions (College de France).
