On the Main Iwasawa Conjecture
Abstract:
In this talk, I will give an overview on how Iwasawa theory studies the growth of class numbers in Zp-extensions via Λ-modules and p-adic L-functions. Here Zp denotes the ring of p-adic integers. This type of work started with Kenkichi Iwasawa in the 1950s.
