Education: Lijun Ding earned his PhD in Operations Research from Cornell University in 2021.

Research: Lijun Ding specializes in continuous optimization, especially in semidefinite programming and applications of optimization in statistics.

Teaching: Lijun Ding will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in optimization and data science.  

Prior to UC San Diego: Lijun Ding was an assistant professor at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2024. Before that, he was a post-doctoral scholar at the Institute of Foundations of Data Science (IFDS)  at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Washington from 2021 to 2023.
